Swatch: Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine #8

Hey there!

So this isn't the art post that I promised. I did try to do a dot mani, but I chose the colours bad and so it ended up looking more like a mess than a mani. Instead, I decided to show you one of my newer polish acquisitions. Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine #8 is a darling. It's a lovely deep red (almost black) polish with a red shimmer that really comes out in the sun.

Application was a pain. I'm not sure whether it was because I'm just a terrible person at putting on polish, or whether it was because I wasn't working under the best light at night, but for two of my five fingers I had to put on a second layer. It was extremely smooth, and took forever to dry. Or that could just be my impatience talking.

I got some mail today! From the Born Pretty Store, I got the stamping plate m65 and a matte top coat. I'm currently experimenting with different colours and types of polish at the moment in terms of the top coat. The stamping plate is having a rest because the scraper and stamper I bought (from another site) got lost in the mail. Another 5 week wait.

P.S. I'm bored.

Swatch: Savvy Mint Julep

Hey there! Long time no see :)

I'm a terrible poster, as you can see. I promise more posts in the future, at least one ever week, and it'll usually be a swatch post. Or an art one. I have an art one lined up for next week because a friend of mine requested that I do a rainbow mani, so watch for that next week!

This week is a swatch of Savvy Mint Julep. Savvy Mint Julep is...a mint colour. I had several fights with my mum over whether it's blue or green, so we settled on mint. It's a relatively smooth application, coat numbers varied with whatever hand I painted with. With my right hand, it took two coats. With my left, one coat. I've hand it on for a week now, and it's only just now starting to chip. All my Savvy polishes have lasted for quite a long time with no chipping, though that could just be my top coat.

Here's a pretty picture. I apologise in advance for my chipped index finger.

Outdoors, sun
Indoor
Out of the two, outdoors in the sun is the most accurate in terns of colours. I forgot to take the bottle out when I went photographing, and besides, who doesn't like photos to go with their reading? I know I do

Last but not least, here's a picture of me pretending to be cool :) That's my cousin's place, by the way.

Peripera Metallic Silver and Haul

Hey! How are you all? I have another haul post for you, but before I do, I have to show you the silver foil that I bought on Tuesday! It's a Korean brand called Peripera, and the polish is called Metallic Silver, and part of their 'Perfume Nail Polish' range. It smells so nice that I can't stop smelling it!

The bottle it comes in is so cute! Just look at it! The cat even has a butt, which for some reason I find absolutely hilarious and cute. Normally costs $12.50, but I bought on sale at $6, which is the most I have ever spent on a single bottle of polish. Not regretting it though~

And here is now the haul part of my post. Not a real haul, considering I bought them on a whim, but I'm call it a haul. Most I've ever spent in one transaction on polish (not the most I've bought though, off by one!). I apologise in advance for my dodgy lightbox, I really should get another lamp...

All Savvy polishes, bought from Priceline for $2.99 each, and for sale until the 16th of July, so I'm going before Sunday to get some more! They're lovely, and I have all the glitters (in case you're wondering). They go on well and I love the colours! Below is a closer look at them, named from left to right.

 Flaming Blue, Sangria, Mint Julep
Blue Bayou, Pink Champagne, Black Martini
 Frostbite, Purple Viking, Ginger Ale
Modern Green, Metallic Silver

Breaking the Savvy trend, my other Peripera polish, Modern Green, part of their Fall & Winter Limited Edition range.

I bought a stamp/scraper, and got the free Hello Kitty one from Born Pretty Store, so look forward to my attempts at stamping in a few weeks!

Love, Wednesday <3

Manicure: Classic Spots

Hi! Thought I'd just get this out of the way and apologise for my lack of posts. Mum and I decided to switch internet providers and it took two weeks for everything to be done.

So here's my apology in form of a new manicure. It's a simple dot one with just black and white. I actually did another one before, to celebrate NAIDOC week here in Australia, but I didn't take any photos because I don't think you'd like to see stained nails @.@

I used Beauty Style Black Cherry and Designer Brand French White, along with a medium dotting tool. I need a better white. Both my white polishes are streaky and horrible to work with.

On the other hand, I'm working tomorrow, which means no nail polish (I work in a bakery, selling bread). And the stained part of my nails are still visible, at the tip. Hopefully no one sees or comments!

Abstract Forest Manicure

Here's my Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge for today:

Friday 22nd June - Jungle mani or Parrots

I never realised that I cut off the Designer Brand French White in the above photo, so my apologies! From left to right, they are Cutex 2in1 Base Coat, Australis (62238), Ulta3 Black Plum, Ulta3 Mermaid Green, Planet Earth Glam Nail (black) and Designer Brand French White.

The dog-like clay model in the first three pictures is my friend's birthday present to me! She made it herself and I for one adore it <3

Now to talk about the mani. I realise that it doesn't really look like a forest, but I don't have brown and so I couldn't create the forest I had in mind. Ergo, abstract forest. It's not clear in the photos but in the background of green I added white and black polish while the green was still wet, to create a streaky look.

If you have any questions about this mani, feel free to comment and I'll answer as soon as I see it!

Flower Spots Manicure

Here's a spotty flower manicure to liven up the day!

I've used Designer Brand French White, Ulta3 Pacific Fever, Beauty Style Petit (silver), and Cutex 2in1 Base Coat. I am loving this manicure, and loving my new dotting tools! Five dotting tools (six different dot sizes) for $1.85, bargain!

I'm now off to take this off and do a Jungle/Forest mani as my first answer to the Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge on Facebook.

Flower Petal Manicure

Hey there! Sorry about my inactivity this week, had to study for exams, so no time for nails...I have something for you though! A simple design of flower petals and a butterfly wing as the accent!

As you can see, I used ORLY Aspen as the base. I am adoring it right now, and is currently my favourite! The white you can see is Designer Brand French White, and the pink on the butterfly wing is Ulta3 Poppy.

I ordered some dotting tools and nail polish sticks (?) on ebay, so soon I'll have even more manicures for you guys! I bought Ulta3 Mermaid Green and Jelly Bean on Saturday, and ten other polishes (for $10, so $14 total for 12 polishes. Yay!) so look forward to swatches in the near future!
